FC Barcelona Confidential
A unique observational film about a year on the inside of the biggest football club in the world, at the worst moment of its history. FC Barcelona was on the verge of bankruptcy and struggling to keep its place in the elite of Spanish–let alone the world–football, when a bunch of impassioned 40-something enthusiasts won the club’s unique elections and started a revolution.
After signing Ronaldinho as the standard bearer of the new project, and Frank Rijkaard as coach, the team at first suffered even more defeats–and the boardroom and club massive tensions–before the results finally started to turn. FC Barcelona took the first steps toward its meteoric comeback, to create the foundation of what is now one of the greatest clubs of all time.
